A. Apartment from the third Decade of the showa Era(1955-1965)(2F)

 

 A central passageway is located at the top of the creaking stairs, along which six rooms of 6 tatami mats and 4.5 tatami mats in size are available on both sides. These were built to act as a dormitory for the female workers. A tiled sink is located at the end of the passageway, and it is also possible to film the old Japanese-style lavatory.

B. Office from Third Decade of thr showa Era(1955-1965)(1F)

 

 

This office that was in use during Japan’s period of rapid economic growth contains the counter, window frames and ceiling from that era. A sofa and clerical desks are located on the other side of the counter, and the showcase and desks are the same ones that were used at that time. The shelves are built in, and the clock and ornaments placed on the shelves are also the original articles from that era.

 Pass through the gate and instantly find yourself back in the Showa Era. The office is on the first floor and the second floor contains Japanese rooms from the good old days; providing apartments in which it is possible to carry out a wide range of different filming objectives. The building and the ambience within the building exudes a sense of relaxation, making it the perfect location for on-set filming.

D.House

 

 

A detached house within the estate of a textile factory that prospered through silk textiles as one of the nation’s high-ranking silk trading centers. In addition to the fastidious interior decorations, the entrance hall is fully equipped to receive guests, and there are no obstacles surrounding the entrance, which makes it perfect for reverse-movement filming.

E.Verandah(Engawa) and Japanese Room

 

 An inner room that conjures up nostalgic memories of the mid-sixties. The Japanese room is eight tatami mats in size and boasts a wooden verandah, and the open-work screen above the sliding doors and the wall clock have occupied this room for more than fifty years. The garden and field can be seen from the sunny verandah, making it perfect for scenes that require shots of a natural garden that is not over-tended.

Sago palms and Chinese windmill palms exude the charm of the era for the south-sea style of filming that was popular at the beginning of the Showa Period. Pine trees, maple trees and citron trees are also available, with the best seasons being summer for the lawn, May for the wisteria, October for the persimmons and December for the citrons. The pine trees have been trimmed every January and February by craftsman for the past thirty years.
